About this Blog
My longtime fans may have noticed that I've wandered a bit from my blog's original intended purpose. I originally intended to have this blog reflect my thoughts on the ever-changing landscape of the economy, politics, and mainstream media. As it turns out, that got boring. So now this blog serves as a stream-of-consciousness for whatever comes to mind. You'll see occasional humor and work-related pieces.
But I still firmly believe, that as a nation, we are at a pivot point. We are plagued by persistently-high unemployment, polarization in politics, and an economy continuously on the brink of disaster. And as a result, our nation is going through a profound change. How we react to these changes will determine the future of our lives and the lives of future generations of Americans.

Hi Brendan,
I love your blog topic and your willingness to take it on. I have been alive almost half a century now, and I have never seen the country I love in what is arguably the worst shape it its short history. Granted, I wasn’t alive during the Great Depression, but what saddens me most now is how bitterly divided we are now, as a nation. That bitter division tends to feed on itself and, as a result, it becomes nearly impossible to induce change through traditional means. I look forward to your posts, and good luck.
